Scandalized NFL star Justin Tucker is a proud catholic and opera singer off the field… on it, he clashed with Travis Kelce

Baltimore Ravens star Justin Tucker has come under fire Thursday after a damning report has accused the kicker of inappropriate behavior by six massage therapists. 

The 35-year-old, who has been married to his wife Amanda since 2015, is alleged to have exposed his genitals, brushed two workers with his exposed penis and left what was believed to be ejaculate on massage tables following three of his treatments. 

The accusations have been made by therapists who worked on Tucker between 2012 and 2016 at four different high-end spas and wellness centers across the Baltimore region, according to the Baltimore Banner. 

Tucker has called the claims ‘unequivocally false’ in a statement.

Two of the spas are said to have banned him from their facilities. Other therapists claimed that Tucker’s behavior forced them to cut sessions short, while some refused to work with him again. 

The alleged behavior has put a spotlight on the rest of Tucker’s life, which includes his Catholic faith, his clash with Travis Kelce during last year’s NFL playoffs, and his operatic singing ability. Here’s a rundown of Tucker’s past, on and off the gridiron. 

Who is Amanda Bass, Tucker’s wife of a decade?

A native of the Lone Star State, Bass was born to Gary and Bonnie Bass on October 14, 1989. She has an older sister named Ashley, who is married to Jeremiah Chapman, a prominent strength and conditioning coach in Texas. 

Bass completed her education at the University of Texas, where she crossed paths with Tucker for the first time.

The pair started a friendship that later bloomed into a romantic partnership. After years of dating, Tucker proposed to Bass in November 2013 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Harbor East. They tied the knot in a private ceremony at Ma Maison in Dripping Springs, Texas in March 2015.

A year later, Tucker and Amanda welcomed their first child, a baby boy, Easton Hayes Tucker.

Amanda’s private Instagram account boasts 260 followers and follows 661. Her profile picture is one with the Ravens kicker as her 198 posts are gatekept from the public.

Tucker and his catholic faith

The kicker is open and proud of his Catholic faith, which underscores his alleged actions. 

A Catholic Review article from 2012, the reported year of his first inappropriate massage appointment, has a rookie Tucker speaking openly about his faith. 

Tucker’s outward actions about his faith include blessing himself before every kick, which started during his tenure with famed Austin, Texas high school, Westlake. 

‘More than anything, it’s just to give glory and say thanks for the opportunity,’ Tucker said of his faith. ‘Not many people get to do what I do … and in college even fewer.’

‘And now only 32 guys get to do what I do. I’m just ever thankful for the opportunity whenever it presents itself. I really just ask more than anything that God’s will be done, and I’m happy with it.’

He’s a classically trained singer

During his time at Texas, Tucker learned to sing operatically and has shown off his pipes on a few occasions. 

He won the 2018 CBS competition ‘MVP: MOST VALUABLE PERFORMER’, besting over a dozen of other NFL players showing off their non-gridiron talents. 

He sang Schubert’s ‘Ave Maria’ for the victory and showed off his talent back in Maryland before then, performing at a Catholic Charities benefit with the Concert Artists of Baltimore nearly a decade ago.  

Tucker has a low singing voice in the bass and baritone range. 

The kicker can perform classic songs in several languages including Italian and Russian. 

Travis Kelce vs. Justin Tucker

Prior to the start of last year’s AFC Championship, Tucker was warming up in the end zone, when Mahomes and Kelce both strolled over and began working out in his space.

Moreover, Kelce decided to toss aside the balls Tucker was using to kick as well as his helmet. In the aftermath of the game, Kelce said that the kicker was warming up in the Chiefs end and that there’s an ‘unwritten rule’ that opposing players should stay out of the way of quarterbacks. He also added that Tucker was trying to ‘poke the bear’.

Even Tucker addressed the situation after the game, saying he moved his helmet when asked by Mahomes, but not enough for Kelce’s liking: ‘I just thought it was all just some gamesmanship, all in good fun but they seemed to be taking it a little more seriously.’

While the mind games had zero effect on Tucker – who went 1/1 on field goals and 1/1 on extra points in the AFC title game – the Chiefs won 17-10 and Kelce caught a crucial touchdown in the contest. Kansas City would go on to win the Super Bowl last year, winning back-to-back titles.

Despite the fact that Tucker was (allegedly) the instigator, and it had zero effect on his performance in the game itself, it had long-term residuals, with Tucker’s field-goal percentage in 2024 dropping below 73 percent at one time. 

Tucker’s response to the scandal 

The NFL and the Ravens are were both aware of the accusations being made against Tucker before the report went public, with both saying they are looking into the matter. 

Tucker himself has come out with a statement clearly denying any wrongdoing. 

‘Throughout my career as a professional athlete, I have always sought to conduct myself with the utmost professionalism,’ Tucker said.  

‘I have never before been accused of misconduct of any kind, and I have never been accused of acting inappropriately in front of a massage therapist or during a massage therapy session or during other bodywork. I have never received any complaints from a massage therapist, have never been dismissed from a massage therapy or bodywork session, and have never been told that I was not welcome at any spa or other place of business.

‘In accusing me of misconduct, the article takes innocuous, or ambiguous, interactions and skews them so out of proportion they are no longer recognizable, and it presents vague insinuations as fact. This is desperate tabloid fodder.’

He added: ‘I have always made a conscious effort to be considerate and respectful in all of the interactions with the community that I love so much. It is devastating for me to learn that anyone would feel I was offensive in any way. I maintain I did not act inappropriately at any point before, during, or after a professional bodywork treatment session. I would never intend to offend or hurt anyone, ever. 

‘As a matter of principle, I respect when individuals come forward to report misconduct of any kind. I support a process that allows claims to be properly investigated. But, for the sake of myself and my family, I cannot allow false claims to go unchallenged. I cannot be any clearer.

‘These allegations are false and incredibly hurtful to both me and, more importantly, my family.’
