The Foreign Minister and his British counterpart chair the second session of the Egyptian-British Partnership Council

He stated Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the Participation Council, which is the mechanism concerned with following up and managing the implementation of the participation agreement signed between the two countries on December 5, 2020, witnessed the discussion of bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them in various fields, including It meets the aspirations of the two friendly peoples. Minister Abdel Ati stressed the aspiration to support the strong partnership with the United Kingdom in various sectors. The two ministers reviewed the successive political developments in the Middle East, where they exchanged views on developments in the Gharra sector, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, the Red Sea, water security, and cooperation in Africa.
The official spokesman added that the Participation Council witnessed an extensive discussion on ways to develop economic, trade and investment relations between the two sides, and Minister Abdel-Aty stressed the importance that Egypt attaches to increasing the volume of trade exchange and direct British investments in Egypt in order to achieve Mutual benefit, especially with the presence of promising investment opportunities in various sectors in Egypt, most notably renewable energy, infrastructure, financial and banking services, the agricultural sector, logistics, and transportation. In this regard, the Minister of Foreign Affairs reviewed the many measures and steps taken by the Egyptian government over recent years to develop the national economy, create a business environment, and support the private sector.
