It’s been a cracking week of footie, it really has.
Tuesday night’s action was tough to follow, but my word did the Premier League deliver again yesterday. It was another breathless night of action, I was a heap on the floor at the end of it.
We have to start with the north London derby, don’t we?
The title race we have been craving for may just be on the cards after Arsenal came from behind to beat their bitter rivals Tottenham last night. As always, the pair threw up a belter of a match.
After going behind to Son Heung-Min’s first-half strike, it felt like the same old story for Arsenal. They had been hammering at the door but just couldn’t finish their chances, while at the other end, Spurs took theirs.
Well, four minutes of pure carnage just before half-time may have just turned their season around.
First, they found an equaliser through the head of Spurs striker Dominic Solanke, before Leandro Trossard turned the game on its head. After that, the Emirates was deafening – they believe.
Meanwhile, Newcastle won their ninth match on the spin to leapfrog Chelsea into the top four. Alexander Isak was at his imperious best yet again, scoring twice and providing an assist for Anthony Gordon.
There were also wins for both Aston Villa and Crystal Palace at both Everton and Leicester, as the league really starts to take shape in the new year.
If you missed the night’s action, I really feel for you…
Hopefully, my attempt at explaining all the drama made you feel like you were there. I try my best.
