Apple has named Temu, the direct-from-factory online marketplace, as one of its top apps for 2024.
In a news release, Apple highlighted the App Store as “the safest and best place for users to discover and download apps and games,” thanks to a robust framework of tools, technologies, and expert curation.
Temu ranks as the most popular iPhone app in 24 out of some 30 markets where Apple provides localized rankings, including the US, Canada, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain,Ireland, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Poland, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, UAE and South Africa. Temu is the second-most downloaded app in Japan, Italy, and France, according to Apple App Store data.
Worldwide Consumers’ choice
Temu has garnered significant recognition globally for its consumer appeal and growing trust. In September, Temu won Poland’s Blix 2024 Best Promotion Award, an award picked by consumer voting, three months after Temu was honored with the Market Success Award at the Retail Awards in the country.
In November, Temu was named as one of the ‘’Top 30 Hit Products of 2024’’ by ‘’Nikkei Trendy‘’, making it the only online marketplace on the list. In December, Temu won the “Excellence Award” in the shopping category of the “Best App Award 2024” in Japan, recognizing its positive impact on users in the given year.
Independent Safety Validation
A December analysis by Switzerland’s National Test Institute for Cybersecurity (NTC) acknowledged Temu’s strong performance in managing app permissions, compared to its e-commerce peers. The study was carried out by three experts from the NTC who spent 60 man-days analyzing the Temu app, with no potential security vulnerabilities found.
