Al-Sisi and the Prime Minister of Greece confirm their intention to continue strengthening the existing partnership between their countries

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received, today, Wednesday, the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, on the sidelines of the tenth summit of the tripartite mechanism between Egypt, Cyprus, and Greece.

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, said: The meeting witnessed the two sides affirming the depth and strength of the historical relations between Egypt and Greece, and their intention to continue the process of joint work to strengthen the existing partnership between them.

Ambassador Mohamed explained. El-Shenawy During the meeting, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields were discussed, especially in the economic field, where the two sides stressed the necessity of intensifying cooperation within the framework of the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum, and working to implement the electrical interconnection project between the two countries. It was also agreed on the importance of continuing cooperation. In the areas of immigration and the recruitment of seasonal workers, with an emphasis on the need to expand the scope of bilateral cooperation to include all areas of common interest.

The meeting also addressed developments in regional situations, especially the situation in Palestine, where The two sides expressed their keenness to achieve a ceasefire and facilitate humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, while emphasizing the importance of working towards implementing the two-state solution. The necessity of consolidating the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon and implementing Security Council Resolution No. 1701 was emphasized. The importance of preventing escalation was also stressed. In general in the region and seeking to achieve calm and stability.

The official spokesman indicated that the two sides had exchanged visions about the situation in Syria, Libya and Sudan, where the need to protect the security of… And the stability, safety and territorial integrity of those countries, and the importance of starting comprehensive political processes that lead to achieving the desired peace and stability, ensuring the preservation of the capabilities of those countries and their people.
