The head of the Evangelical community participates in the celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Dr. Reverend Andre Zaki, head of the Evangelical community in Egypt and head of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, participated in a celebration organized by the Hope Village Association for Development and Social Rehabilitation of the Disabled in cooperation with the Library of Alexandria on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Dr. said. Andrea Zaki: “Supporting people with disabilities is a true expression of humanity and the values of equality that we seek to establish in our society. I praise the role of the Egyptian state in supporting people with disabilities, which has made great strides in this field, thanks to the vision of the political leadership that believes that building the human being is the basis of building the nation.”
He added Head of the Evangelical community, “The partnership between civil society and the state is considered an effective model for promoting the rights of people with disabilities and ensuring their empowerment to be essential partners in development.”
The celebration also included artistic performances. Distinctive, most notably the operetta “Innocence and Simplicity,” in addition to honoring the theater groups and participating artists.
The celebration was attended by Dr. Nada Alfi Thabet, Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors and Member of the House of Representatives, and Professor Margaret. Sarofim, Deputy Minister of Social Solidarity, Major General Ahmed Mahmoud Habib, Assistant Secretary General of Alexandria Governorate, on behalf of the Governor, Major General Ahmed Khaled, and Dr. Arabi Abu Zeid, Director of the Education Directorate. And education in Alexandria, and Sheikh Dr. Ibrahim El-Gamal, Director General of Call and Preaching at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and Secretary of the Egyptian Family House, and Dr. Yousry El-Gamal, former Minister of Education, along with a number of executive leaders and public figures.
