Officers of the General Traffic Department, in coordination with the Traffic Departments of the Security Directorates, launched extensive campaigns; To achieve traffic discipline in the Egyptian street and reduce the occurrence of accidents on the roads, which resulted in the arrest of 27,925 various violations.
The efforts of the campaigns – which were launched in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Interior, Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq over a 24-hour period – reported 16,851 speeding violations, 499 traffic violations without licenses, and 12 random parking violations. And 1,002 violations for talking on a mobile phone while driving, 6 violations of license conditions, and 14 motorcycle violations.
