Grant DuBose medical update revealed after Miami Dolphins star’s horrifying head injury

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Grant DuBose did not travel back to Florida with his team and remained in a Houston hospital overnight after suffering a major head injury during Sunday’s game against the Texans.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel provided the update on DuBose after the 20-12 loss to Houston, where his wide receiver went down with the injury during the third quarter of the AFC clash.

The team provided a further update on Monday morning.

‘After sustaining a head injury in yesterday’s game, Grant DuBose remained at a local Houston hospital for evaluation overnight. He has movement in all extremities and initial tests have revealed positive results. He remains under the care of doctors for continued observation,’ a team statement read.

DuBose was tended to for several minutes before being carted off the field in Houston and taken to a local hospital.

McDaniel said there was ‘positive feedback’ after DuBose got neck and head imaging done at the hospital, but that staying overnight at a local medical facility and not getting on an airplane back to Florida is what was best for the first-year Dolphin.

Bullock picked up a penalty for unnecessary roughness after the play, with the Dolphins scoring their only touchdown of the day on the drive where DuBose was injured after play resumed from the lengthy delay.

DuBose suffered the injury while reaching for a ball thrown by Tua Tagovailoa over the middle of the field.

Texans defensive back Caleb Bullock made contact with DuBose at full speed, leading to the barbaric collision.

DuBose was back on the field for the first time since September in the game after he suffered a shoulder injury in Week 2.

After the loss, Tagovailoa blamed himself for DuBose’s injury.

‘I’m my toughest critic when it comes to ball placement, when it comes to knowing where to go with the ball and all of that,’ Tagovailoa said. ‘And I just feel bad that I even put him in that situation to have gotten hit. It was tough to move on after that happened.’

‘I heard some good news that he’s doing well, he’s recovering, but we all know I’ve gone through something very similar, and that’s no fun. You never want to be put in any of those situations.’

‘But you also understand that this is a physical sport, it’s a contact sport. And again, I just think of what I could have done to have not put Grant in that situation.’
