Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, chaired today, Sunday, the meeting of the Supreme Committee for Migration, which was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, and Lieutenant General Eng. Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, participated in the meeting. Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Transport and Industry, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Mohamed Gibran, Minister of Labor, and Dr. Ahmed Fouad. He was the Minister of Culture, and the participating committee members represented more than 20 national entities.
The committee was established to develop Egyptian policies related to immigration and coordinate national efforts to strengthen ties between Egyptians abroad and the homeland.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted that the world is witnessing radical changes and challenges in migration patterns and ways of managing them, indicating that Egypt finds itself at the heart of these challenges, Which requires activating the role of the Committee to maximize the benefit from the phenomenon of migration within the framework of an integrated approach with other national frameworks concerned with migration and combating illegal immigration.
In this context, he discussed the role of the Committee in organizing courses Training for those wishing to immigrate, setting an example with the “Career 2030” initiative. launched by the Ministry of Labor, which aims to develop youth skills and link them to the needs of international markets. He also touched on the role of the committee in strengthening the connection between Egyptians abroad and their homeland, and praised the “I Speak Arabic” initiative. Which contributes to consolidating the national identity among members of the Egyptian communities, as well as the many initiatives that have been launched over the past years, the most prominent of which are the customs-exempt cars initiative, the conscription status settlement initiative, dollar investment certificates, and residential units in the New Administrative Capital.
In connection with efforts to combat illegal immigration, Minister Abdel-Ati noted that Egypt has made great strides in combating this phenomenon, stressing the determination to… Egypt will move forward at a steady pace to protect the Egyptian people from the dangers of smuggling and exploitation, and work to implement the national strategy to combat illegal immigration and the fourth national action plans for the period 2024-2026, and organize awareness campaigns targeting the governorates that export the most immigration.
 
The Deputy Prime Minister, ministers, and representatives of ministries from national authorities reviewed the relevant national efforts in their various aspects, as the discussions reflected the importance of continuing to strengthen government coordination. In the field of immigration, and to complete the executive effort made by all national bodies within the framework of a constructive participatory approach, the committee also discussed proposals on ways to enhance its work, including supporting rehabilitation and training centers to raise the skills of Egyptian workers, strengthening paths for legal immigration, and linking Egyptian citizens abroad through mechanisms. Regular and sustainable, in addition to consolidating the Egyptian identity in the diaspora countries.
On the other hand, the meeting was followed by Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, and Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, signed a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration and the Ministry of Housing targeting community development to raise awareness and enhance community participation in the development process in the villages most in need, within the framework of implementing the two presidential initiatives “A Decent Life” And "lifeboats".
