Engineer Tariq Al-Nabrawy: Our goal is to return the engineering profession and the position of the engineer to its proper place

Engineer Tariq Al-Nabrawy, head of the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate, confirmed that the quality of engineering education and reducing the numbers of those accepted into engineering colleges are the basic and pivotal solution for the return of the engineering profession to its proper position. He said: “The Syndicate called for ensuring the quality of engineering education, and some criticized us for that, but Everything we called for has now become the focus of all state institutions.”
The head of the Engineers Syndicate welcomed the proposal to allocate a foundation year in engineering colleges. Provided that it is applied to everyone (governmental and private colleges and engineering institutes), and that the total requirements are not allowed to be reduced.
This came during the participation of the Head of the Engineers Syndicate in the celebration of the Faculty of Engineering at Cairo University to honor graduates of the 1974 and 2024 classes, a celebration that was held in the Faculty of Engineering at Cairo University. Major conferences at Cairo University, attended by Professor Dr. Ahmed Ragab – Vice President of Cairo University for Education and Student Affairs, on behalf of Professor Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadiq – It was also attended by the President of Cairo University, Professor Dr. Hossam El-Din Abdel Fattah – Dean of Cairo Engineering, and all members of the college’s teaching staff. It was also attended by former ministers: Hani Hilal, Ibrahim Fawzi, and Wael El-Dagawy, and it was also attended by a group of the pioneer generation, graduates of the 1974 class of Cairo Engineering.< /p>
During the celebration, Professor Dr. Hossam El-Din Abdel Fattah presented a gift – Ceremonial shield for the Captain of Engineers. At the beginning of his speech, engineer Tariq Al-Nabrawy said: “I am proud and happy to be in Cairo University Hall, the great historical hall that all the Egyptian people are proud of, praising Cairo University, noting that it is a scientific center that has radiated knowledge to all of Egypt for more than a century.< /p>
The head of the Engineers Syndicate saluted the graduates and their families, who did a lot to reach the great moment, the moment of graduation from the college, and said: “We are always proud of our engineering graduates.” Cairo is one of the most prestigious universities in the world, and graduates of this ancient college should be connected and proud of their profession and the college from which they graduated, and be proud of their joining the Engineers Syndicate, and they will be proud of our great homeland: Egypt.”
The head of the Engineers Syndicate said: “Government engineering education has been invested in by the state.” Egypt has spanned more than two centuries, attaining enormous potential from the era of Muhammad Ali Pasha until today, and those investments were not in vain. It was scattered, but it was a realization that public education is extremely important, that public education is the guarantee for the continued strength of the social fabric of this nation, and that the engineering profession is the foundation of nations.
The head of the Engineers Syndicate added: “We have always called for attention to the issue of education.” Engineering, and we have repeatedly warned against educational institutions that severely lack quality standards, and some have criticized us, and now we are proud that everything we called for regarding the quality of engineering education has become the focus of attention of all state institutions and everyone has come to believe that the decisions made The decisions taken by the Syndicate in this regard were serious, and achieved the benefit of education and the profession, and thus the benefit of the nation. “He has the potential, status, and financial income that guarantees him a distinguished position in society.”
Al-Nabrawi pointed out the presence of unemployment queues among engineers. He said: “Unemployment queues have destroyed the status of the engineering profession and engineers, and this crisis will not be resolved except by paying attention to the engineering education file, and by setting legal scientific standards targeting the quality of education and reducing numbers in accordance with the vision of the Engineers Syndicate.” p>
The head of the Engineers Syndicate confirmed his welcome of the Council of Ministers’ decision to propose a foundation year system in engineering colleges.. explaining: " We welcome this approach on the condition that it includes all education systems (governmental, private, private, and institutes) with no exceptions in its application, and does not allow the total requirements to be reduced, in order to prevent any attempts to circumvent their proper application. It must also be emphasized that only public universities are responsible for It involves conducting tests, preparing them, and announcing their results, as well as developing appropriate study materials.”
The head of the Engineers Syndicate called on new graduates to join the Syndicate and benefit from its various programs, including engineering training..and said: "The Syndicate currently has training programs at the highest level, and huge training grants that new graduates can benefit from.
The Captain of the Engineers Syndicate concluded his speech by reading the Engineers Syndicate’s oath, and all the graduates repeated the oath behind the Captain. In his speech delivered on behalf of the President of Cairo University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ragab greeted the graduates of the Cairo Engineering class of 1974, calling on them to be proud of their affiliation to the Faculty of Engineering and their affiliation to Cairo University, and to the engineering profession, which in Egypt is 10,000 years old, and to be proud of Egypt the land. The Dean of Cairo Engineering said: “In this celebration, we say thank you to the pioneering graduates of the class of 1974… Thank you for your journey and your giving. At the same time, we say that today we are receiving new ambassadors for Cairo University’s engineering, who will raise the flag of Cairo engineering as their predecessors did.” Professor Dr. Hani Hilal delivered a speech on behalf of the graduates of the class of 1974, stressing that this class was distinguished because it graduated after the victory of October 1973 and took responsibility for the development of the nation. He said: “We are proud that we are engineers, this great profession capable of achieving miracles.
