Megan Fox called it quits with Machine Gun Kelly in late November and insiders have been buzzing with info about what pushed her to make the decision.
The pair are expecting their first baby together, yet according to multiple sources, Fox previously developed trust issues with MGK and now, she’s finally reached her breaking point.
One insider told Page Six that Fox “became suspicious” during their Thanksgiving getaway.
“[She] decided to go through his phone… [she] found text messages involving other women and decided she was done,” the source claimed.
They added that Fox’s “trust issues” with MGK came down to “past behaviour”. She had planned to “rebuild her trust with [him]” as she was “excited to grow their family together”. Not anymore, it seems!
Another source told Us Weekly that the couple have had a tumultuous on-and-off relationship in the past.
“Megan and MGK have broken up several times since the pregnancy was announced. This was just one of the bigger ones that people have heard about,” they claimed.
“Their relationship is so full of passion and that leads them to get back together over and over, but also to fight in the most toxic of ways. Their fights have gotten less intense now that MGK is sober, but they still have a hard time having a stable relationship with each other.”
People spoke to a source close to Fox, who said she was “blindsided” by their breakup.
“She’s been distraught,” the insider said, adding that Fox is “trying to focus on” the baby, which is “her priority”.
A separate insider said there’s still a chance Fox and MGK will reunite, saying “they love each other but don’t have compatible personalities”.
“They’re both hot-heads, dramatic and stubborn. When they’re good together, they’re great. They will very likely get back together. They’ve split in the past and then worked out.”
Entertainment Tonight’s source agreed, saying the couple might not be done for good.
“Megan and MGK are not together right now, but that could easily change in the future,” the insider said. “They have been on and off throughout their relationship, but have a deep love for each other and connection and that doesn’t just go away.
“They still have some trust issues to work through and they can both be emotional and impulsive at times. The two of them want to focus on Megan’s well-being for the future of their baby.”
In March, Fox opened up on the Call Her Daddy podcast after host Alex Cooper questioned her about their broken engagement and their rocky relationship.
“What I’ve learned from being in this relationship is that it’s not for public consumption,” she said. “What I can say, that [MGK is] what I refer to as being my twin soul, and there will always be a tether to him, no matter what. I can’t say for sure what the capacity will be, but I will always be connected to him somehow.
“Beyond that, I’m not willing to explain. But all those things you said were accurate things that have occurred, and I can see them being confusing or interesting to people, and them being like, ‘What’s up?’”
At this stage, neither Fox nor MGK have commented publicly about their split.
