Counselor Amal Ammar meets with the Director of the Population and Gender Justice Group at ESCWA to discuss ways of cooperation
On the sidelines of her participation in the activities organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), In the Sultanate of Oman, Counselor Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women, met with Dr. Mehrinaz Al-Awadhi, Director of the Population, Gender Justice and Comprehensive Development Group at ESCWA, with the aim of presenting ways of future cooperation between the two sides.
Counselor Amal Ammar presented Egypt’s efforts in the file of women’s empowerment and protection, stressing that the secret of the success of this file in Egypt is the presence of the will A conscious and enlightened political policy of Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, who believes in the importance of empowering and protecting women and that empowering them is a national duty.
While Dr. Mehrinaz Al-Awadi presented the technical cooperation activities that ESCWA provides it to all Arab countries and presents the Simulating ISPAR indicators for policy makers in the Arab region, as well as the various trainings provided by ESCWA to governments in various fields related to women.
It is noteworthy that the advisor Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women, has headed to Muscat, in the Sultanate of Oman, to participate in the activities of the two high-level meetings organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), which are the twelfth session of the Women’s Committee. affiliated with ESCWA, and the high-level Arab meeting on the progress achieved in implementing the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action +30, thirty years after their adoption, which is held in partnership between the League of Arab States and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, over the course of two days, 8 and 9 December.
The President of the Council is also scheduled to participate in a session entitled Women and Decision-Making, and in the launch ceremony of the annual update.
