Mohamed Salah ‘has agreed a new two-year contract at Liverpool as talisman and the Reds board reach an agreement to extend his stay’ with forward’s deal expiring at the end of the season
Liverpool have reportedly reached an agreement with Mohamed Salah over a new contract.
There has been much speculation regarding the future of the winger, whose current deal is set to expire at the end of June.
As reported by The Mirror, Salah is now on the brink of signing a new two-year contract to remain at Anfield.
Salah’s agent Rammy Abbas told Liverpool that he wanted a three-year contract for his client, with Fenway Sports Group having initially only been prepared to offer him a one-year extension.
However, a compromise has now been reached, with the 32-year-old set to prolong his stay at the club who he has represented since 2017.
Salah already earns around £400,000-a-week at Liverpool, with money having not been an issue with regards to him deciding his future.

Last month Salah had revealed his disappointment at not having been offered a new deal by Liverpool at that stage.
Speaking to a small selection of reporters after Liverpool’s win at Southampton, Salah said: ‘We are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club. I’m probably more out than in.
‘You know I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end it is not in my hands. As I said, it is December and I haven’t received anything yet about my future.
‘I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it is not in my hands or the fans’ hands.’
Asked if he was disappointed about the lack of progress, Salah added: ‘Of course, yeah. I’m not going to retire soon so I’m just playing, focusing on the season and I’m trying to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League as well. I’m disappointed but we will see.’
