Bill Belichick reportedly had a second round of talks with North Carolina as speculation intensifies over the legendary coach’s future.
The 72-year-old has been away from the sidelines since he and New England parted ways in January after 24 seasons.
Earlier this week, however, shock reports revealed that Belichick had spoken to the University of North Carolina over the school’s head coaching position.
Belichick has never coached at the college level but on Friday, it was claimed that the 72-year-old met school officials in Manhattan for a second interview.
According to CBS Sports, Belichick held more talks with the school on Thursday, the same day he hit the red carpet with his 24-year-old girlfriend at the American Museum of Natural History gala in New York.
The event featured a performance by Arcade Fire and appearances by Scarlett Johansson and Alec Baldwin.

The Tar Heels are one of a number of teams who have been linked with a move for Belichick since he left the Patriots. CBS claims the 72-year-old he has ‘been open’ to opportunities.
ESPN, meanwhile, reports that Belichick has ‘seriously considered’ the North Carolina job – even if his appointment remains ‘unlikely’.
Belichick won six Super Bowls as Patriots head coach and he reportedly blew UNC officials away when they spoke.
The Tar Heels, who went 6-6 this season, recently fired Mack Brown – who had won more games than any other UNC head coach.
Since leaving the Patriots, Belichick has been working as an analyst on the likes of ‘The Pat McAfee Show, ‘ManningCast’ and ‘Inside the NFL’.
