Launching a direct flight line to Dushanbe/Sharm El-Sheikh next April to boost tourism movement

Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, held extensive meetings with a number of ministers and deputy ministers of the Tajik government, where she met with the Minister of Investment, the Minister of Energy and Water, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Deputy Minister of Industry, and a direct flight line to Dushanbe was mentioned. Sharm El-Sheikh, which is scheduled to open next April, comes within the framework of strengthening relations between the two countries and contributing to revitalizing the tourism movement between them.

She met with Dr. Rania Al-Mashat. Sultan Rahimzadeh, Tajik Minister of Investment, to discuss ways to enhance future cooperation, during the activities of the third session of the Egyptian-Tajik Joint Committee for Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation at the expert level, in the Tajik capital, Dushanbe.

 

During the meeting, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat explained the structural reforms the state is undertaking, in light of the National Program for Structural Reforms, with the aim of enhancing competitiveness. economy, increasing private sector participation, adopting policies and programs that attract investments, and simplifying legislative and regulatory frameworks, in a way that creates the business climate to become more attractive to local and foreign investments, pointing out that these reforms are integrated with other measures related to the governance of investment spending, and regulating the state’s participation in economic activities, Which ultimately leads to economic growth and development led by the private sector.

 

She stated that the state has implemented huge national projects with the participation of The private sector in many sectors, pointing to the Egyptian government’s strategy for green transformation by attracting the private sector, and the government’s plan to increase the development and dissemination of renewable energy to achieve the goal of reaching 42% of the installed capacity of renewable energy by 2030, which confirms Egypt’s commitment to accelerating the transition to renewable energy sources. Clean energy and promoting the use of renewable energy to reduce dependence on unsustainable sources.

 

During the meeting, the two sides discussed enhancing areas of cooperation in aluminum manufacturing, as aluminum is the most important export of the Republic of Tajikistan by 50% of the value of exports. Cooperation in the fields of renewable energy and water desalination was also discussed, and the possibility of exchange in the field of agriculture in light of the two countries’ excellence in this sector, in addition to cooperation and exchange of experiences in the field of tourism and benefiting from the Egyptian experience in this field. 

 

A direct Dushanbe-Sharm El-Sheikh flight line was mentioned, which is scheduled to open next April, which comes within the framework of strengthening relations between the two countries and contributing to stimulating tourism movement. Between them.

 

Dr. Rania Al-Mashat met with Delir Juma, Tajik Minister of Energy, where the two ministers stressed the great opportunities available to the two countries to enhance their cooperation in the field of renewable energy, and to advance fruitful and constructive work in areas of interest. The Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation explained that Egypt has a pioneering experience in involving the private sector in renewable energy and green hydrogen projects, which represents an opportunity. Promising for Tajik companies, pointing to the launch of the “Novi” program, and its role in attracting private sector investments to increase renewable energy capabilities, as well as attracting soft financing from international financial institutions.

 

The Tajik Minister of Energy expressed his country’s desire to benefit from the Egyptian experience and expertise in dealing with international financial institutions and multilateral development banks, as well as expertise and experience in the field of energy.

 

The Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation also met with the Tajik Deputy Minister of Industry, where the two sides discussed available cooperation opportunities in the field of industrial development in light of the capabilities possessed by the countries, where The importance of increasing joint work in the field of pharmaceutical, mining, construction, and other industries was stressed, and the Tajik side praised Egypt’s efforts to expand in the field of renewable energy, whether at the level of solar or wind energy, as well as hydrogen. Green.

 

Dr. Rania Al-Mashat met with the Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister, who confirmed that Egypt enjoys great privacy with the Republic of Tajikistan, and that his country is looking forward to strengthening diplomatic relations with Egypt, pointing out that the committee The joint venture has contributed to the signing of 19 cooperation documents since its inauguration, and its continuation strengthens channels of communication and cooperation between the two countries.

 

The Deputy Foreign Minister praised Egypt’s role in the field of Climate action and hosting the COP27 climate conference, as well as promoting the green transition through the expansion of renewable energy projects, as well as the diversity of energy sources in Egypt, most notably the High Dam, which is considered a very important model for generating clean energy.
