Nobody believes me when I tell them my favourite $119 home decor item is from Kmart Australia: ‘It is pure luxury’
A Kmart shopper has raved about a bargain buy she scored for her new apartment – and none of her friends believe her when she tells them where it’s from.
Annabelle, from Sydney, was furnishing her dream home with a mix of affordable and luxury buys – but couldn’t believe her eyes when she spotted the Arch Rug from Kmart.
The large $119 design looked just like versions worth thousands of dollars, was beautifully textured and claimed to add a ‘chic, contemporary look’ to any living space.
And boy did it ever.
‘After styling my living room with more pricier pieces, no one could believe that the rug was from Kmart,’ Annabelle told FEMAIL.
‘It’s so soft and luxurious went you walk across it with bare feet and there has been no pilling or loose pile whatsoever.
‘There has already been a spill as well, but it was super easy to clean with standard carpet cleaning product.’
Annabelle said the rug arrived rolled up in a sturdy plastic cover and was light and easy enough to fit in the car.

‘It was delivered to my office within three days of ordering online,’ she added.
The rug comes in medium ($89), large ($119), and extra large ($149) with the sizes 180cm x 133cm, 235cm x 160cm and 270cm x 180cm.
It has embossed texture for a soft underfoot feel, carpet backing for strength and durability and is made with a combination of polyester, cotton and wool.
The large size weighs a cool 9.39 kilograms.
The reviews of the slick rug speak for themselves, with 71 of them averaging 4.5 stars.
‘I bought this rug for my bedroom and it fits beautifully under my bed. I’m obsessed with it, it’s gorgeous, soft and modern. Great value for money,’ one woman raved.
‘Looks exactly like the images online. Think it would be better suited for lower traffic areas as it does get dirty easily. However, great overall value for the price,’ another said.
‘I really think this is a great purchase. Love its softness and colour.’

It’s not the only Kmart buy making waves right now, with ‘divine’ Christmas-scape candles flying off the shelves across the country.
The gorgeous glowing festive season candles create that perfect cosy ambience in the home and come in two delightfully nostalgic scents: gingerbread and Christmas spice.
Then, as the double wicks start to burn, a ‘glowing scene’ comes to life on the outside in the form of a ‘cutesy’ holiday home.
The best part? They cost just $15.

The gingerbread option, made with both soy and paraffin wax, has top notes of spice and cinnamon and middle and base notes of ginger, nutmeg and vanilla.
For a sweeter, fruitier alternative, the Christmas spice has top notes of apple and peach and middle and base notes of clove, cinnamon, vanilla and tonka bean.
The candles, which have been compared to designs costing $40 and above, have been an instant hit and are already starting to sell out in Aussie stores.
‘I bought the red candle and it not only looks amazing, it smells divine,’ a fan gushed.
‘Have both of these candles and they are stunning. Too pretty to burn. Kmart is definitely punching with these,’ another wrote.
