Minister of Irrigation: 3,300 kilometers have been rehabilitated, and another 700 kilometers are being completed as part of the “Decent Life” initiative.

Dr. Hani Sweilem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, received a report on the status of water projects being implemented within the framework of the “Decent Life” presidential initiative.

 

Sweilem reviewed the status of canal rehabilitation work. At the centers of the “Decent Life – Phase One” initiative With a total length of 4,000 km, the length of the canals that have been rehabilitated reached about 3,300 km, and the implementation of another 700 km is being completed. "A decent life" In January 2019, which aims to provide a decent life for the Egyptian people, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation plays a pivotal role in implementing this initiative, especially since water resources projects are of great importance in achieving sustainable development, given that water is a key element in all development projects. < /p>

 

The minister added that the ministry contributed to the “Decent Life” initiative. Through the implementation of various projects in the areas of protecting the sides of the Nile River, protection from the dangers of floods, and switching to using solar energy to raise water from wells, these projects succeeded in improving the standard of living of citizens in the initiative centers.

 

The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation also participates prominently in the “Decent Life” initiative. By providing plots of land for irrigation benefits to establish service facilities on them to serve the people in the initiative centers.. The Ministry has arranged (147) plots of land for irrigation benefits with an area exceeding 4219 thousand square meters in the governorates of (Sohag, Menoufia, Qena, Minya, Damietta, Aswan, Luxor, Assiut, Beheira, Dakahlia, Kafr El-Sheikh, Beni Suef, Ismailia, Fayoum, Giza, Qalyubia), in order to establish a number of (188) service projects within the framework of the initiative, such as (youth centers – lifting stations – treatment stations – schools – health units – ambulance points – police points – fire stations – service complexes and post offices – parking lots – agricultural associations – service complexes And agricultural).
