Former MAFS Star Turned Sea Moss Peddler Brent Vitiello Takes To TikTok To Refute Scam Claims

Sea moss brand Mos x Daily is still in hot water eight months after it previously found itself as the subject of angry TikTok videos from customers who claim the business is a scam. The creator, former Married At First Sight star Brent Vitiello, has been copping allegations that his business is a scam since April, with customers still claiming that they’ve either experienced major delays receiving the product or that they’ve struggled to receive refunds. This week, Vitiello took to TikTok to defend his business from customers sharing their alleged experiences on social media.

“I’ve been seeing a lot of videos being made of me and of the business on TikTok and I can’t really defend myself because I very rarely use the platform,” he said.

“I think now I’m going to use that platform and be on TikTok every single day explaining what’s going on behind the scenes, what’s happening with orders, what we’re doing with the foundation and basically every movement so people are very aware of what’s going on.”

Vitiello refused to “entertain” the scamming claims made by multiple customers.

“I’m not into this whole cancel culture and I won’t entertain the word ‘scamming’ because every time you use that, you take away from the work, the hard, hard work of over 100 employees working day and night to make sure this brand is basically giving the best sea moss in the world,” he said.

Vitiello claimed that Mos x Daily harvests the “purest and freshest sea moss in the world” and the delays in the shipping process are due to the specific steps the brand takes to maintain quality.

“It comes with a lot of difficulties and it’s kind of disheartening because I’ve taken that route because it’s the hardest and people are still trying to shit on that,” Vitiello explained.

“I’m not going to go against our quality to spread up the process when there are delays. I am going to take accountability for the delays because obviously I am the owner and that’s just how it works but you know, there are a lot of factors — human error, harvesting and understand that because we don’t store in a factory, we harvest straight from the ocean, it then gets washed, prepared, made to order every single package by hand and then sent out to you.”

Vitiello followed the first video with another specifically about the sale. You can check it out below.

Vitiello’s TikTok videos come after multiple customers claimed to have experienced significant delays after the business’s latest sale, which claimed to sell the sea moss for free with punters only having to pay shipping.

One TikToker, Beani (@itsmebeanie), claimed that she’d waited over a month for her order without receiving any shipping information. When she got in contact with Mos x Daily, she was told her order would arrive within the week. However, it didn’t show up. After looking at the company’s reviews on ProductReview.com, Beani discovered 172 negative reviews slamming Mos x Daily for shipping delays and even claims that the product arrived expired.

None of these negative comments exist on Mos x Daily’s website.

After making a video about her experience with the brand, Vitiello commented on her video.

Beani responded to Vitiello’s comment in a follow-up video.

“There are over 300 people in my comment section explaining that they’ve had the exact experience as me. No shipping label, no tracking number and no product after months,” Beani said.

“As a paying customer who was told that my product would arrive on a specific date, I did not expect the owner of the brand to leave passive-aggressive comments under my video basically telling me I’m lying.”

After reaching out to Vitiello, he told PEDESTRIAN.TV that the situation is “nowhere near the same as last time”.

“30,000 customers for product for free and all they had to do is pay for shipping,” he said.

“We make every order by hand so there are delays but that’s the model. I’m happy to talk about it as we will be caught up within 7-10 days and the clout TikToks will stop as they always do, same as last time.”

Back in April, Vitiello told PEDESTRIAN.TV that the delays were due to issues the company had with AusPost. At the time, the packaging only allowed for a 30-day shelf life.

“This is where we made the decision to COMPLETELY change our packaging and partner with DHL, a more reliable customer service,” he said at the time.

“Moss x Daily is not a ‘scam’. We have invested a significant amount of funds and hours into the brand to rectify all concerns.

“We are aware that there have been some complaints and we’re deeply devastated by the events that have occurred to cause this and we are working around the clock to make amends and get our clients their product as quickly as possible.”
