Every week, the “Hi news!” podcast. tells the news to 7-11 year olds, a production of Franceinfo radio and Astrapi magazine. The children speak throughout the show: to comment on current events, ask questions, ask for advice or even tell jokes! To co-present this week’s episode, “Hi News!” hands the microphone to Paul, 9 years old, a big fan of rugby and Star Wars.

Early Wednesday, November 27, a ceasefire was put in place in Lebanon, a decision taken between Israel and Lebanese Hezbollah, who have been in conflict for two months. But why and how long will it last? The explanations can be listened to in this episode.

We also look back at the sale of a banana for almost… six million euros, a controversial work of art. “I find it a bit weird though”comments Paul, 9 years old. Presenter Estelle deciphers this phenomenon of contemporary art.

Finally, the show pays tribute to Bernadette Desprès, illustrator of the heroes Tom Tom and Nana, who has just died at the age of 83.

To launch you into the adventure of media education in cycles 2 and 3, we provide you, every week, with a new episode of “Quart d’heure Actu”. This sequence of three brief audio extracts from the podcast “Salut l’info!” allows you to establish a short and fun weekly information ritual in class. And to encourage active listening among students, the session is accompanied by a quiz to download.

This week’s issue also brings us to talk about children’s literature… Head to the Françoise Sagan media library in Paris with our listener Alix to discover the history of the very first children’s library in France: L’Heure Joyeuse. The exhibition “What’s the point of reading” is on view until March 23 and tells the story of this very innovative library for its time. To go back in time, it’s Alix who makes the visit and asks questions on the microphone of “Hello news!”

In our section “We tell each other everything”, another listener, Alyosha, calls on us for help and raises a very important question in friendships: should you lie and no longer be yourself to please your friends? With the help of a psychologist, the show gives him advice.

This week’s joke box is a special Toto selection, the hero of jokes.

In the “Salut l’info!” club, the atmosphere is rather sporty, with favorites Paul, 9 years old, rugby fan.

“Hey news!” was prepared for you this week by:

Estelle Faure, Agathe Guilhem, Lara Mercier and Rémi Chaurand on production
