Waxing a physical therapy center in Assiut for violating the laws and requirements for licensing free therapy

The Department of Free Therapy at the Health Directorate issued a decision to close and wax a physical therapy center in the city of Assiut for violating the conditions of the license granted to it, in accordance with Law No. 51 of 1981, amended by Law No. 153 of 2004, and also violating the law regulating the profession of physical therapy No. 3 of 1985, Article 8, which stipulates that it is not permissible for anyone to Physical therapy is the practice of diagnosing conditions, giving medical or pharmaceutical prescriptions or certificates, or ordering Laboratory, radiological, or other tests.

During her statements, Dr. Hala Abdel Moati, Director of the Free Therapy Department at the Health Directorate in Assiut, confirmed that the decision to close came after news came of the center’s return to practicing the profession of therapeutic nutrition again after being warned about a year ago, as the profession is practiced by a pharmacist and a physical therapist, rotating at the center.

Immediately, free treatment officials were assigned to the Sharq Health Department to take the necessary legal measures.

The Director of the Free Therapy Department at the Health Directorate in Assiut added that the center has no role in therapeutic nutrition, and that the physical therapist comes in a complementary role after diagnosis and treatment by the human doctor, while the role of the pharmacist comes in a cycle to work within the therapeutic nutrition team, and he is not entitled to practice the profession as a doctor or deal with the patient. Directly or in writing, medications, prescriptions, etc.

This came in implementation of the directives of Professor Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, and Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, Governor of Assiut, and within the framework of the plan of the Ministry of Health and the Directorate of Health Affairs in Assiut, to intensify traffic and tighten control over non-governmental “private” medical facilities, and arrest violators. Including, in order to preserve the public health of citizens.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Zein El-Din Hafez, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Population in Assiut, stressed the continuation of intensive campaigns in Assiut Health to follow up on medical facilities and take all necessary legal measures regarding violations, which would not prejudice the health and safety of citizens.
