7-Eleven stores across Australia are handing out free Slurpees and coffees to celebrate 7-11 Day once again.
The retailer is offering a large Slurpee or regular coffee to those who make a purchase in store.
However, people who purchase tobacco or tobacco related products in store won’t qualify for the free drink.
Fiona Hayes CEO & Managing Director, 7-Eleven Australia said 7-11 Day gives the retailer the opportunity to thank loyal customers.
‘We’re hoping to give away more than 200,000 Slurpees and coffees today as part of celebrations across Australia,’ she said.
Customers who are signed up to the loyalty program will also be able to enter a draw for 7-Eleven merchandise as part of celebrations.
The merchandise is from the US market and not available in Australia. It includes a bespoke golf bag, knitted polo, tracksuit set and cap.
‘We’re excited to offer unique merchandise that celebrates our brand with our loyal customers,’ Fiona said.

Customers flooded the 7-Eleven social media feeds following the announcement about the popular day, with many frustrated that they had to make a purchase to get involved.
‘What’s the catch? need to spend $100 at the pump?’ one person questioned.
‘Free Slurpee was exciting back in the days where you could get sugared flavours that weren’t just Cola and Raspberry,’ said another.
‘Coffee is $2 chips are $5 not much of a celebration,’ said another.
‘With any purchase IS BULL,’ fumed another fan.
