Dr. Nasser Mandour, President of Suez Canal University, announced that the Supreme Committee for Supervising Student Union Elections at Suez Canal University has announced the final lists of candidates in the student union elections for the academic year, 2024-2025.
Dr. Nasser Mandour explained that the number of candidates was 628 male and female, including 281 female and 347 male students, while electoral propaganda began last Thursday.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Naeem, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, indicated that according to the standards approved by the Supreme Council of Universities, candidates have the right to carry out electoral propaganda in accordance with the controls determined by the Supreme Committee for Supervising Elections and approved by the competent authority. The committees exclude anyone who uses religious, sectarian, or partisan slogans. In electoral propaganda, as well as anyone who violates public morals, traditions, and university values.
Dr. Mohamed Abdel Naeem continued that the list of prohibitions for students in electoral propaganda includes intentionally damaging college walls by writing election propaganda phrases, using color pens, and printing on university walls, in addition to using religious slogans in propaganda, or using sectarian slogans in electoral propaganda, or using slogans. Political and partisan propaganda.
Among the prohibitions in electoral propaganda for student union elections is destroying trees at the university to hang propaganda banners, as well as promoting and publicizing external offices during electoral propaganda while distributing the electoral program, using loudspeakers on the roads and on campus, and using any pictures, posters or instructions that are contrary to customs and traditions. University.
While Dr. Mahmoud Shuaib explained that the first round elections in colleges, sorting, and announcing the results begin on November 24, and the runoff round will be held on November 25, then elections for committee secretaries and their assistants will be held at the college level on November 26.
According to the approved schedules, elections for the president and vice president of the union will be held at the college level on November 27, with the student elections ending with the election of committee secretaries and their assistants and the president and vice president of the university union on November 28.
It is noteworthy that the Supreme Elections Committee is headed by Dr. Mohamed Abdel Naeem, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs.
