5 Creators On How They’re Practising Self-Care In 2025

Gone are the days where self-care simply meant a spa day and $15 green smoothie. In 2025, self-care is about setting boundaries and getting honest with yourself on what you actually need out of life.

Self-care is also about looking after the future you. While our present self would love to skip our morning routine or max out our credit card on things we don’t need, responsible self-care means taking a beat to think about the person you want to be.

One way to do this is investing time into a skincare routine that’s created with your future self in mind AKA products with SPF included. Protecting the only skin we’ll ever get is so important and NIVEA’s Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Range aims to do it all.

The range includes a Dual Action Serum, Eye Cream, Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Extra Firming Day Cream with SPF30, a Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Replenishing Night Cream, and finally, the Targeted Wrinkle Filler Serum

Featuring hydrating Hyaluronic Acid, SPF 30 and pure Q10, the NIVEA Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Extra Firming range is one way to practice some self-care for both your present and future self as time goes on.

To learn more about this new era of self-care, PTV spoke with five creatives to find out how they’re practicing it in 2025.

In the past couple of years, I’ve definitely neglected “me time” while focusing on work and family. As a result, I’ve realised I need to make self-care a priority again in 2025.

It sounds so basic , but for me, self-care this year is about ensuring I prioritise myself by making sure my cup is full before trying to fill others’ and doing things that will make me feel happy and fulfilled. Whether it’s setting aside time for relaxation, taking breaks, or saying no when I need to, I want to focus on nurturing my own well-being so I can show up better for everyone else. It’s all about balance.

I’m practising self care by slowing allllll the way down. I’m talking slow mornings, five-step skin care routines that are intentional, and actually tying my shoe laces up instead of shoving my foot in there like a useless supermarket receipt.

I know I can live my life by going fast but the fun of that never lasts long, so 2025 is all about remembering that taking my time doesn’t mean I’ll come last. My life isn’t a race, it’s a joyous stroll (with some occasional sprints just to keep me on my toes).

This year I wanted to really focus on my physical and emotional health.

Since social media is a big part of my work this year, I’ve been making it a point to avoid doomscrolling before bed. An hour before bed, I put my phone away and read or journal.

I’ve also signed up for group fitness classes and have been inviting friends to go for walks instead of the usual coffee dates. It’s a fun way to stay active and catch up.

My spiritual faith is really important to me, so I attend my local church every week and being around people who share the same values has a huge positive impact on my emotional health.

For me, 2024 was the year of doctor’s visits, specialist referrals and hospital tests to diagnose my sleep apnea. 2025 is the year of following through! Self-care is prioritising “sleep hygiene”, think: using my CPAP religiously, sticking to a sleep schedule, putting my phone away and investing in good linens.

I’m practising self-care this year by making sure I’m prioritising my values. Spending quality time with loved ones, giving myself time to tend to my hobbies, allowing myself to live a slow life — these are all really important to me. Self-care should look different to everyone. Sure, face masks and Netflix marathons are enjoyable, but I think true self-care is about listening to and honouring what your body and soul want.

Now go off and look after yourself, because you are worth the time and effort. Remember, you’ve only got one you.

Always read the label and follow the directions for use. Sunscreens are only one part of sun protection. Avoid prolonged high risk sun exposure. Reapply frequently.
