450 deer and wild boars killed in Spain

Animal rights group Ecologists in Action has expressed outrage at the mass slaughter of deer and wild boars in Andalusia, during which nearly 450 animals were stormed into barbed wire enclosures and killed.

According to the Daily Mail, seventy hunters took part in the slaughter at once, each of whom could kill several animals for a fee of 1,000 euros.

Despite the fact that this method of hunting is allowed in Spain if a license is purchased, environmentalists are still outraged by the nature of hunting, which they called “the orgy of blood and death”.

“Such a massacre would not have been possible in the natural environment – there simply was nowhere for the animals to escape,” said a spokesman for Labor ecologists Joaquin Reyna.

At the same time, representatives of the fishing community, in turn, noted that such events help maintain the balance in the biosphere due to the very large number of inhabitants.
