3 decisions of the Doctors’ Office regarding the clinics’ reconciliation crisis

The office of the General Syndicate of Doctors was held under the chairmanship of the General Syndicate, Dr. Osama Abdel-Hay held a meeting today to discuss the crisis facing doctors in a number of governorates, regarding their demand for reconciliation over clinics and converting them from residential to administrative or commercial, and the threat of closing, waxing, and cutting off facilities for these clinics.

 

This came in the presence of the union’s representative, Dr. Jamal Amira, and Secretary-General Dr. Muhammad Farid Hamdi, Treasurer and Rapporteur of the Establishments Committee, Dr. Abu Bakr Al-Qadi, and Assistant Secretary-General Dr. Khaled Amin, and Assistant Treasurer Dr. Shadi Safwat.

 

The Medical Syndicate Office decided to address the Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly stressed the necessity of exempting medical clinics that obtained a permanent license from the competent governor before the issuance of the Reconciliation Law on Some Building Violations No. 187 of 2023, and not applying the law retroactively, and limiting the application of the law to new clinics only without those holding a license at the present time.   

 

The bureau formed a team of legal experts and senior lawyers to study the necessary legal procedures to respond to the decisions of a number of governorates demanding that doctors reconcile in their clinics.

The office body of the General Syndicate of Doctors also decided to invite the General Syndicate Council to an emergency meeting on Friday, October 18, at 2 p.m., with the sub-councils of the unions to study the situation and discuss moves during the coming period, to resolve this crisis.
