The marathon of student union elections at New Ismailia National University and its colleges continues, as today, Sunday, November 24, the first round elections, sorting, and announcement of the results are being held, with 270 male and female students competing for 112 seats. This came according to what was stated by Dr. Nasser Mandour, President of Suez Canal University and Commissioner for Facilitation of Works. New Ismailia National University.
Dr. Adel Hassan, Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs of New Ismailia National University, made an inspection tour of the electoral committees, in which an atmosphere of enthusiasm and complete commitment prevailed.
Dr. Adel Hassan was accompanied by Dr. Suhair Abu Aisha, Secretary General of the University, and Dr. Muhammad Abdel Hadi, General Coordinator of Student Activities.
Dr. Adel Hassan emphasized that the university always seeks to provide an environment that encourages students to participate in student activities and choose their representatives freely and fairly, noting that student elections represent an important experience for students to acquire leadership and management skills, as well as to strengthen democratic values in the university community.
For her part, Dr. Ghada Haddad, Dean of the Medicine and Biosciences Sector, explained that the runoff elections will be on Monday, November 25, then the elections for committee secretaries and their assistants at the college level will be on Tuesday, November 26, and the elections for the president of the union and his deputy at the college level will be on Wednesday, November 27, and finally the elections will conclude on Thursday. November 28 with elections for committee secretaries, the union president, and his deputy at the university level.
For her part, Dr. Suhair Abu Aisha, Secretary-General of the University, stressed the importance of student union elections in enhancing the spirit of leadership and active participation among students, and they are also real training for electoral life, explaining that the University is working to provide all capabilities to ensure the success of the elections at all levels, noting that These elections represent a great opportunity for students to choose their representatives democratically, which enhances their participation in decision-making.
While Dr. Muhammad Abdel Hadi pointed out that student union elections are not limited to selecting representatives only, but rather are a vital experience that contributes to developing leadership skills and teamwork, which enhances the spirit of cooperation among students, pointing out that student participation reflects the spirit of democracy and responsibility, as Every male and female student has an influential voice in directing student activities and determining their priorities.
