Snowy roads, idling cars and a stationary school bus. In Sierentz (Haut-Rhin) in the south of Alsace, snowfall(New window) severely disrupted traffic from the morning of Friday, November 22. By measurement security, school buses were left in their garage, forcing some students to stay at home.
As for delivery drivers, skipping a day of work is out of the question despite the slowdowns. After all, the roads are plowed and salted to encourage traffic. “The road is still going well, it’s quite clear. The delivery points are a little more complicated to access, because it is not cleared of snow at customers’ premises“, explains a delivery man. On the roads, to clear the pavement, the salt spreaders get to work from 3 a.m. However, traffic on the secondary network remains difficult.
