Abu Dhabi, April 20 / WAM / The Department of Municipalities and Transport continues its efforts to immediately respond to the emergency caused by the weather in the emirate, in coordination with its affiliated entities and strategic partners, which has contributed to achieving tangible results to restore life to normal in Abu Dhabi by addressing the effects of the unnatural weather. The unprecedented heavy rains that the country witnessed.
The department explained that it took precautionary measures and preventive measures within its proactive plan, which it developed in cooperation with the relevant authorities to deal with weather forecasts before the storm began, to mitigate its expected impact on the infrastructure in the emirate. Once the specialized teams confirmed that the impact of the storm and heavy rain would exceed expectations, the department moved quickly and flexibly to implement its emergency plan to deal with the weather situation.
This plan included the immediate deployment of emergency response teams, on main roads or in residential complexes, where they worked throughout the night to provide support to residents in areas affected by record levels of rainfall.
The response teams were tasked with protecting the community by focusing on working to meet infrastructure requirements, which include parks, green spaces, roads, and sewage networks, in addition to cleaning the streets and removing the damage left by the storm.
Emergency response teams continue their work throughout the emirate, and the competent authorities remain in constant communication with individuals and institutions to address urgent problems and provide the necessary support when needed.
In this context, it formed a specialized team to investigate the impact of the weather condition, discuss the best possible ways to protect society, and find optimal solutions to deal with such situations in the future.
