QUICK HITS FOR PSAC TEAMS, WEEK 8:
IUP-
Against, California (Pa.), the Crimson Hawks have an 11-8 away record.
CALIFORNIA- The Vulcans topped undefeated and Nationally Ranked Slippery Rock, 20-7.
GANNON- With injuries piling up Gannon had a much-needed bye week before returning to action this Saturday against Edinboro.
EDINBORO- Wilfredo Diaz notched 12 tackles, eight solo, to go with .5 a sack and a fumble recovery.
LOCK HAVEN- Jackson Ostrowsky, the top passer in the PSAC, now has 2,056 passing yards on the season. In just seven games, it’s already the eighth-most ever in a single-season for a Lock Haven quarterback. His 15 passing TDs this season are tied for the fifth-most in school history for a single-season.
EAST STROUDSBURG- Tailback, Tahir Mills was named PSAC East Offensive Athlete of the Week. Mills averaged an impressive 10 yards per carry, rushing for a career-high 140 yards on 14 carries.
MILLERSVILLE- For the second week in a row, Millersville dominated the first quarter, building a two touchdown lead. But for the second week in a row, Millersville faded in the second half. Shepherd stormed from behind last Saturday to top the Marauders, 35-21.
WEST CHESTER- WCU quarterback Cooper Jordan threw for 204 yards and two TDs, rushed for 82 yards and even caught a pass for 22 on a 4th-and-1 Philly Special.
SHIPPENSBURG- Shippensburg hits the road to face Bloomsburg this Saturday. The Raiders are 50-37 all-time against the Huskies, including wins in the last four matchups. Last season, SU held on for the 7-0 victory.
BLOOMSBURG- The Huskies fell short in a wild 35-32 game against Lock Haven last Saturday night. With the loss, the Huskies dropped to 3-4 on the year and 1-3 in PSAC East play.
SHEPHERD- The Rams face No. 4 Kutztown on Saturday in a battle of PSAC East powers. Shepherd is 2-3 against KU all-time, with the Golden Bears taking last year’s matchup 20-3. Prior to that, Shepherd had earned back-to-back wins of 42-35 and 30-28.
KUTZTOWN- Kutztown is riding a PSAC East winning streak of 11 games.
CLARION- QB Anthony Guercio earned PSAC Football Western Division Offensive Athlete of the Week honors.
SETON HILL- SHU battles Clarion on Saturday. The Griffins are 4-6 all-time against the Golden Eagles and won last year’s meeting, 24-17.
