The Deputy Minister of Education stresses the importance of the dual education model as one of the most important initiatives for developing technical education

The Ministry of Education and Technical Education, in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), organized the (INNOVET) celebration in its second edition under the slogan “Partnerships for the Future of Technical Education”; This is to launch the Steering Council for Dual Education and Training.

This comes within the framework of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education’s interest in developing the technical education system, and its relentless pursuit of improving practical training. Improving the quality of the outputs and levels of professional competencies of Egyptian technologists and technicians in various sectors; In order to keep pace with international standards, meet the needs of the labor market for new professions and specializations, prepare qualified technical cadres at a high level, and qualify them for the labor market in Egypt and abroad, 

And on behalf of Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, I delivered Dr. Ayman Bahaa El-Din, Deputy Minister, gave the opening speech, during which he stressed the importance of the dual education model as one of the most important initiatives for developing technical education, as the student spends 70% of his studies within the industrial establishment in his specialty in what is known as the education system based on Work.

The Deputy Minister also reviewed the Ministry’s strategies towards technical education and plans to expand schools within industrial, agricultural and service institutions to achieve real practical training and qualify graduates to work directly in the local, regional and international market.

It includes The Steering Council, pursuant to Ministerial Resolution No. 191 of 2024, established representatives from all business institutions and unions, headed by the Deputy Minister and membership of the Federation of Egyptian Industries and the Egyptian Federation of Construction and Building Contractors. The Federation of Tourist and Hotel Chambers, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, the General Union of Horticultural Producers and Exporters, in addition to the Egyptian Federation of Investor Associations and Institutions, the Alexandria Businessmen Association, and the Sadat City Investors Association.

 The celebration witnessed the honoring of distinguished companies in Providing training services to students of technical education schools, as well as coordination units in various educational directorates. In addition, a panel discussion was held in which the council members reviewed their vision and the council’s work plans for the period. The celebration was attended by the Regional Director of the German Agency for International Cooperation, representatives of the relevant ministries, a large number of undersecretaries, directors of technical education, and representatives of the private sector, international cooperation bodies and civil society.

Also present were Dr. Mohamed Emara, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Education Schools and Head of the Quality Assurance Authority in Technical and Technological Education, Dr. Amr Basila, Head of the Central Administration for the Development of Technical Education Schools and Director of the Applied Technology and Dual Education Schools Operation Unit, and Professor Dr. Ashraf Bahgat, Head of the Central Administration. For the Academy of Technical Education Teachers, and Dr. Amani Qarni, Consultant for the Central Administration of Technical Education Schools.
