Viral menu item draws long lines at Disneyland: ‘It’s the best thing I’ve tasted’

Fans are lining up to purchase a Garlic Cheesy Brat at a Fantasyland restaurant in Disneyland after the park added it to its holiday menu.

The California-based attraction added the creation to its 2024 Christmas seasonal menu. The $13 Disneyland Brat at Edelweiss Snacks is a Cheesy Garlic Pretzel Bread with a Bratwurst inside.

The restaurant began offering the Brat last August as a limited-time item around Halloween season.

Before its debut on an official menu, the item was a viral Disneyland food hack, and various foodies shared recipes on how to make their own versions of Garlic Cheesy Brats on social media platforms.

‘Love that this used to be a hack you did inside the park, now you can just order it,’ Marc Kharrat, co-founder of Food Beat wrote on Instagram.

The food expert added that Garlic Cheesy Brat was allegedly sold out by 11.00am on the day when it launched.

Disneyland has an extensive history of long lines for rides and restaurants, but there are tricks that may help park guests avoid them.

After the menu item’s popularity, Edelweiss Snacks extended its line wait time, according to Mice Chat.

The outlet added the restaurant now has a ‘taped-off’ area to manage the long lines with customers looking to order the popular Brat.

One expert advised Edelweiss Snacks’ customers to place an order on a mobile device in advance.

Mice Chat claimed that an over 30-minute wait time became five minutes after a customer placed an Edelweiss Snacks on the Disneyland app.

Ordering on a mobile app is not the only thing customers can do to potentially skip long restaurant lines at Disneyland.

Guests can also keep track of the wait lines on the Disneyland app or visit the restaurant during its off-peak dining hours, usually in the early morning or late afternoon.

Because this is the holiday season, tourists may fill up all Disneyland parks, which is why early mornings may be the best off-peak hours.

Disneyland guests hoping for the early hours can visit Edelweiss Snacks when it opens at 10.30am.

Park goers who cannot visit the restaurant until the afternoon or evening have until 10.30pm to purchase a Garlic Cheesy Brat.

Social media users who have purchased the Garlic Cheesy Brat were impressed and insisted they would want to purchase it again.

One X user claimed the Brat changed their life after they tried it while visiting Disneyland in October 2024.

Another person claimed the Garlic Cheesy Brat as their answer to a tweet from someone asking what they believed was the best thing they ate at Disneyland in the past year.

Others could not stop writing about how ‘good and satisfying’ it was, with another person claimed it was the ‘best savory item.’

‘My stomach is full just looking at all the photos!,’ an X user joked in their tweet.

Multiple social media users had suggestions for what they believed would have made the Brat taste better.

Some of the ideas put forward by Instagram users in Kharrat’s video included mustard and sauerkraut.

One Brat eater claimed the Disney treat was ‘absolutely delicious’ but revealed they didn’t need ranch and suggested the cooks ‘increase the garlic up a level.’

Food from Disneyland’s latest holiday menu are limited-time items, and most of them will be gone on January 6 or 7.

Like the Garlic Cheesy Brat, several other items from the holiday menu became available to purchase at Disneyland eateries on November 15.

Another item from Edelweiss Snacks included in the seasonal menu is the Black Forest Bundt Cake.

The treat is a chocolate sponge cake filled with cherries, topped with chocolate ganache and Chantilly crème.

Other finishing touches on the $6.79 menu item are chocolate curls, cherries, and powdered sugar.

The Bundt Cake will be available until January 6, but Disneyland has not announced when it will remove the Brat from the menu.
