The workforce in Parliament discusses the conditions of employees of the Eastern Tobacco Company
Representative Adel Abdel Fadil Ayyad, Chairman of the Manpower Committee in the House of Representatives, confirmed that the Eastern Tobacco Company is committed to fulfilling the workers’ obligations, and that even those who retired received all their dues, thanking all the company’s leaders for that, continuing: 4,000 workers retired. We did not hear any complaint from them about delaying any dues.
This came during a meeting of the Manpower Committee in the House of Representatives, this evening, to discuss the subject of the briefing request submitted by Representative Ali Ahmed. Ali, regarding the many problems of the employees of the Eastern Tobacco Company with their box.
For his part, Hani Aman, CEO of the Eastern Tobacco Company, confirmed: Eastern Company said that the company is keen to communicate with Parliament to clarify any matter, especially when it concerns workers, and he continued, saying: Since assuming responsibility in 2018, the company has achieved three times the profits, as 3.5 billion pounds today was 12 billion pounds, and there were 14 thousand workers. Today there are 7,000 workers, and all those who left have received all their dues.”
Aman confirmed: The company is keen to implement the law and the rights of workers, and even all those dealing with it, including contractors and suppliers, in full transparency, continuing: The company, after selling a share to an Emirati investor, is committed to everything related to workers’ rights and the advancement of the company.
