Today, Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, met with Dr. Khaled Mubarak, Governor of South Sinai, at the governorate’s headquarters in Sharm El-Sheikh.
During the meeting, ways to enhance joint cooperation between the Ministry and the governorate were discussed to encourage more incoming tourist traffic.
Mechanisms for intensifying tourism activities and events were also discussed. Various activities that are organized in all cities of the governorate in a way that contributes to greater tourism promotion, enriching the tourists’ experience there, and promoting it to increase the volume of tourist flow to it. The investment opportunities available in the tourism sector in South Sinai were also highlighted.
Sherif Fathi expressed his happiness with the great momentum that the city of Sharm El-Sheikh is witnessing through the events and activities that it hosts or is being held there, including the celebrations witnessed yesterday to launch the Festival The annual international lighting in Soho Square in the city marks the beginning of the holiday season in the governorate, and preparations for Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The minister spoke about the importance of such events that would contribute to Highlighting South Sinai Governorate and its diverse tourism potential.
The Minister was keen to thank the Governor for the warm reception he received. Appreciating his efforts in supporting tourism and tourism investment in general and the governorate in particular, stressing his keenness to strengthen all means of cooperation with the governorate to implement more various tourism and promotional activities and events.
Dr. Khaled Mubarak stressed coordination and cooperation to enhance tourism work, support promotional activities, and encourage investment initiatives in the tourism sector.
In conclusion In the meeting, the Governor of South Sinai presented the governorate’s shield and a souvenir to the minister, which was a miniature model of St. Catherine’s Monastery, as it is one of the important religious and tourist archaeological sites, and a book about the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
